Sanctuary

The feathers are arranged in this flag book to create a safe refuge for the hidden handwritten text.  The emotionally charged private laments within the writing are made impossible to read while bound face down beneath the feathers.

Pigeon feathers, inkjet printed vellum, handwritten vellum, Canson mi tientes, metal bead, cotton string closure.  Unique handmade book.  2010
