hushed we met

Text describing a romantic encounter  on a warm summer day is combined with images of snow covered ground and fallen leaves.  All from one point of view, the text dwells on this single memory.   At first the tone is gentle, a reminder of the memory.  But, as the recall of the memory goes on, the tone becomes more forceful.  As the tender moment becomes a sensual and physical event, the narrator commands the unknown second character to remember this day, to relive this day, to feel this day.
Throughout the book the leaves also are very important both in the text and imagery, though it is unclear what exactly they signify, leaving the viewer to answer this question.
