Poison Ring
Historically the poison ring, also called a pillbox or vessel ring, has been used to discreetly carry poison, relics, notes and even locks of hair from lovers or loved ones.
The pages in this book have been treated using poison ivy, either by eco printing or batch dying in the rendered botanical pigment of the leaves and stems. Handwritten notes within are illuminated with gold foil, some legible while others remain private by layering beyond recognition. Glass seed beads are sewn into the binding and spine; tiny treasures hidden from view, discoverable only by opening the book beyond the comfort of the brass ring that keeps it all well contained.
Watercolor paper, cotton rag paper, gold foil, glass beads, brass ring. 2026
